TIJUANA, Baja California, May 31, 2008.- Brazil
defeated Canada 3-1 keeping an unbeaten record in
Pool B of the Women’s Pan American Cup, a
qualifier to the 2009 World Grand Prix.
The Brazilians, who blanked Venezuela on Friday,
won by score of 25-14, 23-25, 25-13, 25-13.
Canada, who prevailed in five sets against Cuba on
the opening night, is now 1-1.
On Sunday, Brazil plays against Puerto Rico in a
battle of teams with perfect records.
Natalia Pereira, Natalia Martins and Regiane
Bidias led Brazil with 14, 13 and 12 points
respectively. Tammy Mahon was the best Canadian
with 12 points and Tiffany Dodds added 9. |
